This degree in anatomy combines a programme that includes dissection with a choice of modules from laboratory-based biomedical sciences, psychology and biological sciences; it is suitable for those wanting a thorough understanding of the structure and function of the human body and students are well prepared to compete for graduate entry to medicine, veterinary medicine, dental sciences, diagnostic radiography and physiotherapy; each year includes dissection of the human body guided by a series of related lectures and practical sessions in fields like human evolution, vertebrate morphology, stem cell biology and musculoskeletal biology; options can also be chosen from practical laboratory skills, genetics, biodiversity, physiology, psychology and immunology; the third year includes the opportunity for a laboratory-based project.
