The programme introduces students to, and enables them to analyse, the economic, social, cultural and political interconnections and the flow of goods, people and ideas between the societies of the Atlantic basin spanning the 15th to the 20th centuries; students are invited to reflect on the perspectives and experiences of people involved in various capacities and to consider the impact that this process has had on the shaping of present-day societies in Britain, Africa and the Americas.
