First university degree: Officially notarized copy of the diploma from the previous degree program (Bachelor’s in: Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Humanities with a minimum grade of “good” (= 2.5) or an equivalent final degree).
Proof of the required English proficiency, verified by a minimum grade of “satisfactory,” 5 points in a completed school training program lasting five years or a minimum score of 85 on the “Test of English as a Foreign Language” (TOEFL).
In addition, a selection interview usually lasting 20 minutes, but at least 15 minutes, will determine if the applicant has the specialized skills required for successful study in the Master’s degree program, as well as sufficient motivation for the program. Officially certified proof of German language proficiency at the advanced level, i.e. completed level C 1. Before enrolment you have to pass the DSH-2 exam.

The Master’s program teaches students the advanced knowledge required for a more research-oriented career in epidemiological disciplines, as well as the ability to develop and communicate scientific results. Epidemiology examines the distribution and contributing factors of health-related conditions and events in the population and applies the knowledge thereby gained to manage health problems. The goal of the program is to confidently analyze health challenges on a national and international level, plan and conduct studies, and implement their results.
