Art history is concerned with post-ancient European art up to the modern era. The purpose of the course is to enable undergraduates to conduct scientific research on artistically and historically important post-ancient objects. Students are taught to set artefacts in their original context and bring out their characteristic features as monuments or documents belonging to our cultural heritage.
