Module options for semesters 1 and 2 include: criminology and gender; race, ethnicity and criminal justice; international criminology; national security, terrorism and the rule of law; forensic mental health care; substance use and mis-use and health; the compulsory modules are: semester 1: criminological theory; methodologies and ethics in criminology; semester 2: researching victims and offenders; criminal justice agency placement; semester 3 dissertation: modules include: criminological theory; criminological research; practical placement.

1st or 2nd Class Honours degree; applicants whose 1st language is not English must provide evidence of their English language capabilities at a university approved level; applicants who fail to reach this standard may be required to complete an agreed English language tuition programme prior to being accepted for the Master's.

This course builds on the research and teaching expertise of individual tutors, and covers a wide range of themes in contemporary criminology and criminal justice; a key aim is to develop a sensitivity and awareness of the development of criminal justice policy in the context of the perceived increase in crime and in the fear of crime; students are encouraged to discuss in depth a range of criminological issues employing the rigorous analytical approaches adopted by criminological scholars.

Расположение

Город Нортгемптон находится в центральной Англии, в часе езды от Бирмингема, Лондона и Оксфорда. Университету принадлежат два зеленых кампуса, находящихся в 6,5 км от центра города Нортгемптон. Университет расположен недалеко от основных железнодорожных и автомобильных магистралей страны, между кампусами ходят бесплатные автобусы. Два кампуса Университета – это Парк Кампус (Park Campus) в Кингсторпе – северном пригороде Нортгемптона - и Авеню Кампус (Avenue Campus), который находится немного к северу от центра города, напротив большого парка под названием Racecourse. С 1924 года на Авеню Кампусе располагается технологический колледж, вошедший в состав Университета.
