Level 1: Fundamental principles and concepts of engineering; technical requirements; management issues; significant design and make project. Level 2: Industrial setting giving students the opportunity to work alongside professional experienced engineers to solve real problems; training programmes are agreed with the companies and overseen by engineering teaching staff; problem-solving, teamwork and analytical skills develop during this part of the course; this is complemented, where appropriate, by the use of computers and software packages so that students gain wide hands-on experience of modern computer aided engineering. Level 3: Computer simulation and modelling; tools and techniques used in quality and manufacture; major project (normally industry-based), where students specialise in areas that they are particularly interested in, involving in-depth research and problem solving. Modules include: Electronic principles; engineering project; mechanical principles; manufacturing processes and materials.

Расположение

Город Нортгемптон находится в центральной Англии, в часе езды от Бирмингема, Лондона и Оксфорда. Университету принадлежат два зеленых кампуса, находящихся в 6,5 км от центра города Нортгемптон. Университет расположен недалеко от основных железнодорожных и автомобильных магистралей страны, между кампусами ходят бесплатные автобусы. Два кампуса Университета – это Парк Кампус (Park Campus) в Кингсторпе – северном пригороде Нортгемптона - и Авеню Кампус (Avenue Campus), который находится немного к северу от центра города, напротив большого парка под названием Racecourse. С 1924 года на Авеню Кампусе располагается технологический колледж, вошедший в состав Университета.
