DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: Degree in engineering or in hard sciences (such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science) or background equivalent to an undergraduate engineering degree in mathematics, physics, mechanics, and the courses basic to the program area of application is required.
QPA: An Undergraduate QPA equivalent to 3.00 for M.S. All applicants are required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) - General Test. The “competitive” score range for the GRE quantitative section is 650-800 and 4.5-5.5 for the analytical section. There is no minimum score requirement. It is the policy of the University of Pittsburgh to admit only those students with a TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper-based test), 213 (computer-based test) or 80 (internet-based). It is the policy of the University of Pittsburgh to admit only those students with an IELTS score of at least 6.5.

Industrial engineering (IE) is about choices - it is the engineering discipline that offers the most wide-ranging array of opportunities in terms of employment, and it is distinguished by its flexibility.
