2:1 degree or better in drama, theatre studies, performing arts or English where drama has been a major part of the programme; other related subjects such as film and television may be considered; a good general knowledge of plays, practitioners, theatre history and theatre forms; experience of working with young people in schools and youth theatre; experiences gained as a teaching assistant, cover supervisor or student mentor are highly valued; GCSE minimum grade C or equivalent in mathematics, English language and science; interview.

The programme is a mix of practical workshops, interactive seminars and school based research projects; it is designed to help students review their own experiences and concepts of drama, as well as to consider how people learn through engaging with the art form; the taught sessions at the university explore strategies designed to help children progress in their abilities to make, perform and critically respond to drama; the knowledge, skills and understanding acquired through working in the context of drama are linked to the requirements of the National Curriculum and KS3 Strategy; considerable attention is paid to links between drama and the development of literacy and creative thinking; links are also made to the study of the media, English language and literature and the development of key skills; leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests.

Расположение

Город Рединг находится в долине реки Темзы на юго-востоке Англии в 25 минутах езды на скоростном поезде от Центрального Лондона. Экономика города – самая быстрорастущая в Англии. Рединг - центр IT индустрии Великобритании, где крупные офисы имеют такие компании, как Oracle, Microsoft, Ericsson и другие.

Главный кампус университета Whiteknights занимает 160 гектаров лугов и парковой зоны. Маршруты автобусов 20 и 21 отходят у железнодорожной станции /центра и следуют прямо в студенческий городок. Аэропорт Хитроу находится в 40 минутах езды на автобусе от города.
