Level 1: Students are introduced to industry standard 3-dimensional software, digital video, editing and post production techniques; students will explore the generation of concepts and explore the processes required to develop script writing skills and will also learn about the creative use and technical rigours of sound and music within short film and animation. Level 2: Advanced projects are produced allowing students to develop character animation through both stop frame and computer generated 3-dimensional techniques; students will also analyse film and animation and place the medium within an historical and creative context. Level 3: This module enables students to produce their individual show reel; they will have developed specialisms and both the major project and portfolio modules enable students to promote themselves to the animation and related media industries; students will also be required to produce a dissertation on a subject area of relevance.
