Selection of compulsory and optional modules including: Introduction to landscape architecture (series of design projects; visual and computer-aided design projects and workshops); landscape histories; ecological design and management; advanced planting design; advanced construction design; social aspects of design; integrated design project; UK field trips (1 residential) and a summer European field trip; year 2: landscape design and art practice or urban landscape planning or greenspace maintenance; rural landscape planning or urban design project or greenspace management; professional practice, law and contracts; special project; landscape research dissertation.

Вступительные требования

Good undergraduate Honours degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in a subject related to landscape or design (ecology, geography, geology, architecture, engineering, or fine art); in exceptional circumstances candidates without a 1st degree who have relevant skills and education through previous employment and/or study that demonstrates their ability to complete a higher degree, subject to the written approval of the Faculty of Architecture may be considered.

The course is for graduates in other subjects who wish to qualify as professional landscape architects in the UK and other IFLA member countries; the 1st year is an intensive conversion year; students are introduced to landscape design approaches, theories and history, develop visual and IT skills and tackle a broad range of design projects of increasing complexity.

Расположение

Четвертый крупнейший город Англии известен своей дружелюбной атмосферой, идеальной для общественной студенческой жизни и развлечений. Шеффилд, со 150 лесонасаждениями и 50 парками является самым «зеленым» городом в Англии.

Университет находится в центре Великобритании, всего в 11 км от национального парка Скалистый край и в двух с половиной часах езды на поезде до Лондона.

Через город Шеффилд проходят автомобильные и железнодорожные магистрали страны. В самом городе отлично функционирует транспортная система. Университетский кампус находится в западной части центра города и до него легко добраться на машине, автобусе или трамвае.
