Official SAT or ACT scores, including at least one official writing score. High school results. More than 75% of admitted 2014 freshmen scored an 1150 or higher on the SAT (critical reading and math sections combined) or a 25 or higher on the ACT composite. Seventy-five percent of admitted 2014 freshmen earned a weighted core GPA of at least a 3.64. Students who complete the required 18 high school academic units with at least a 3.5 HS GPA and earn scores as mentioned above are usually competitive for admission. TOEFL scores.

Two degree programs in economics are available: the Business Economics concentration from the Darla Moore School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in economics from the College of Arts and Sciences. All economics courses are taught by faculty at the Moore School; students earning a degree from the Moore School take additional business core courses, while students earning a degree from the College of Arts and Sciences take more courses in non-business subjects.
