Official SAT or ACT scores, including at least one official writing score. High school results. More than 75% of admitted 2014 freshmen scored an 1150 or higher on the SAT (critical reading and math sections combined) or a 25 or higher on the ACT composite. Seventy-five percent of admitted 2014 freshmen earned a weighted core GPA of at least a 3.64. The Computer Science majors covers the techniques, algorithms, and theory necessary for building software including sub-specialties such as video games, bioinformatics and computational biology, computer forensics, geographic information systems, web applications, enterprise computing, scientific computing, database, and others. As a Computer Science major, you will develop key skills including algorithmic thinking, the ability to develop large software projects, the ability to work well in groups, and the ability to communicate complicated technical knowledge to the lay public.
