Research topics include: Normative theory, liberalism and communitarianism; critical theory; continental philosophy; theory of ideology; political myth; active citizenship and the acquisition of citizenship values; democracy and participation; gender perspectives on citizenship; citizenship and learning; young people's understandings of citizenship; social exclusion; multiculturalism; refugees; access to labour markets; EU and gender, rights and social policy; European nationalisms (especially extreme right-wing versions); European defence and security; Europe's international relations; French and German politics; national and comparative education policy; lifelong learning and the learning society.

Вступительные требования

Good Honours degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent and preferably a Masters degree from a UK university or overseas equivalent in a relevant discipline.

Расположение

Лондон - крупнейших финансовый, политический и культурный центр мира соединен с Гилфордом быстрой прямой железнодорожной веткой, так что к завтраку можно оказаться в Лондоне, а к обеду уже вернуться обратно, в университет. Международные аэропорты Хитроу и Гатвик находятся совсем недалеко.

Cтудентам предлагается бесплатное автобусное сообщение. Кроме того, Ореховая Ферма, находящаяся на окраине Гилфорда, предлагает бесплатный проезд в городских автобусах. До Университета легко добраться из общежитий как пешком, так и на автобусе.
