Вступительные требования

Applicants must have received the academic degree regarded as their countries' first professional degree in law (equivalent to the U.S. juris doctor degree). Diplom spetsialista or bakalavra, kvalifikatsiya Yurist. For all those required to take the TOEFL exam, the minimum scores we look for are: Paper Based TOEFL (PBT): Writing: 60 Listening: 60 Reading: 60 TWE: 4 Internet-Based TOEFL (iBT): Writing: 24 Speaking: 22 Reading: 26 Listening: 26. The Graduate Committee will accept a score from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in lieu of a TOEFL score. The minimum score we look for on each section of the IELTS exam is 7.5.

A wide range of course offerings and Virginia’s faculty — prominent in areas such as immigration law, international human rights, environmental policy, comparative constitutional law and international business — make UVA’s international and national security law program one of the strongest in the nation. Foreign professors are regularly invited to the Law School to teach seminars on topics such as European Union law and comparative law, and students may take select courses at the neighboring Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School.

At nearly 2,000 acres, the University of Virginia’s Grounds cover a large part of the City of Charlottesville. The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO) is located approximately eight miles from the University. The Charlottesville Amtrak Station is located at 810 West Main Street, approximately two miles from the University.
