Students study in a subject specialist cohort with opportunities to share good practice and professional experience with others in the group; students deepen their understanding of English language, literacy or numeracy (as appropriate) as a subject area; this includes knowledge of key questions, theories and concepts in their subject, as well as the development of their own personal skills in the subject area; students extend their repertoire of learning and teaching methods and strategies in the subject, and develop understanding of the diverse needs of learners; they consider how the theories of learning and assessment can be applied to the teaching of your subject; students are encouraged to analyse and critique policies and practices relating to the teaching of their subject, and to develop their own considered approach to teaching language, literacy or numeracy.
