Students must complete a taught LL.M module in research methodology and a dissertation; this enables working lawyers to critically reflect on their own legal practice as a means of fulfilling the LL.M’s learning assessments; students take the research methodology for the 1st semester and are expected to start the dissertation which has to be handed in at the end of the year.

Graduates of the postgraduate diploma in legal practice (LPC), where sufficient study has been completed equivalent to 120 credit modules, within the last 5 years; graduates of the Bar Vocational Course (BVC), where sufficient study has been completed equivalent to 120 credit modules, within the last 5 years; practising solicitors who have undertaken the former Law Society’s Solicitors’ Final Examinations and have at least 6 months recent practice experience within the last 2 years; practising barristers who have undertaken the former Bar Final examinations and have at least 6 months recent practice experience within the last 2 years; foreign qualified lawyers admitted to practice in England or Wales and have at least 6 months recent practice experience within the last 2 years; where English is not 1st language IELTS 6.5 is required.

The course enables students to develop analytical and research skills necessary to research and write a detailed piece of research relevant to the practice of law; it complements the compulsory vocational stage of learning required to embark on a career in law; it enables students to apply academic understanding and research techniques to the production of a dissertation.

Студенческий городок Университета Западного Лондона расположен в одном из самых престижных для проживания районов Лондона. В обоих городах оживленная и многонациональная атмосфера сочетаются с просторными парками и тихими кафе. Это безопасный, живописный, многонациональный район Лондона, расположенный в самом центре городской агломерации, недалеко от аэропорта Хитроу.

Беркширский Институт Здравоохранения (the Berkshire Institute for Health) в Рединге расположен на расстоянии пешей доступности от центрального вокзала и автобусных остановок, недалеко от парковок и городских перехватывающих автостоянок. Многие приезжают издалека, чтобы насладиться походом за покупками и ночной жизнью в Рединге.
