Applications for admission to the traditional M.S./Ph.D. program are accepted from students with undergraduate majors in many different fields, including computer science, mathematics, engineering, psychology, linguistics, economics, physics, philosophy and business. Minimally, the student should have had some programming experience (including courses in data structures and machine organization) and should have had a year of college-level mathematics at the level of calculus or above. Strong students can sometimes be admitted to graduate work in CS without having had programming experience or mathematics courses as described, but they will have to make up the deficiencies. GRE general scores. A minimum undergraduate grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 on the equivalent of the last 60 semester hours (approximately two years of work) or a master's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 is required. Applicants from an international institution must demonstrate strong academic achievement comparable to a 3.00 for an undergraduate or master's degree. All GPAs are based on a 4.00 scale. 4-6 year first degree, a bachelor or diploma. The required proficiency scores are: Minimum TOEFL requirement: 92 internet (iBT); 580 paper-based test (PBT) Minimum IELTS requirement: 7.0 Minimum MELAB requirement: 82

Eagle Heights and University Houses are situated just a half-mile northwest of UW-Madison’s western campus and is a community of apartment buildings nestled in 83 acres of green space on the shoreline of Lake Mendota. These neighborhoods primarily serve families, and boasts numerous picnic and playground areas, a central community center and one of the oldest community gardens in the United States. Harvey Street Apartments serves single graduate students and is located south of University Avenue, just west of campus. This quiet street is close to shops, restaurants, and the UW campus.
