This is a joint Honours programme which allows the student to study 2 subjects in equal proportions; education studies is a forward-looking course that develops knowledge, skills, and understanding in the field of education and training and gives the student a valuable insight into the education system of England and Wales; it enables the student to enter the expanding field of education-related work in administration and training as well as offering suitable modules for students who want to work in the management and training of human resources; the student is encouraged to undertake work experience that is accredited towards their degree; they can gain experience in a variety of educational and community settings such as schools, colleges and children’s homes; the geography course provides an understanding of natural environmental processes, as well as the ways in which humans have moulded and managed the form and function of different landscapes; this course prepares the student to play an active part in shaping the world around them; the student gains skills such as fieldwork, graphicacy, numeracy and specialist information technology skills such as remote sensing and geographic information systems.
