Year 1: Introduction to the fundamentals of programming; it gives students the chance to analyse systems, particularly their implementation within organisations; students study databases, the use of a PC-based database system, and be involved in a range of practical activities such as designing security and control measures; in addition, students can choose whether to further their understanding in operating systems and networks or web development. Year 2: Continues developing database skills, and enables students to choose from a range of topics such as human computer interaction, systems architecture, systems development and the impact of information systems on organisations. Year 3: Students investigate the importance of database design and data capture, and the enterprise rules of the organisations for which they are designed; students also take on a research project of their choice.
