Applicants must hold (or expect to hold) a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. (Four-year Bachelor's degree)
All international applicants must register with the LSAC J.D. Credential Assembly Service, and some international applicants must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). All applicants must take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). In most cases, international applicants are required to take the TOEFL. We will also accept the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) in lieu of the TOEFL.

Select Vanderbilt J.D. students can also earn a master's in finance at Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management, completing both degrees in three academic years (six semesters)..
The program's advanced training in finance and financial markets provides immediate advantages to new graduates pursuing careers in corporate and business law.
Students admitted to the J.D. / M.S.F. program will register at the law school for their first two academic years of study (four semesters), register at the Owen School for their fifth semester, and register at the law school while completing two electives at Owen during their sixth and final semester. Completing requirements for both degrees in three years requires careful planning and close coordination with program administrators.
Prospective students should apply for admission to the J.D. and M.S.F programs separately, while indicating their interest in the joint-degree program on each application.
