A completed Level 4 qualification, ie City and Guilds 7407 Stages 1 and 2; Certificate in Education Year 1, or equivalent (for direct entry to year 2); A degree; regular employment in post compulsory education or training, normally an average of 5 hours per week or 150 hours per year in an approved placement; A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in the subject you intend to teach; responsibility for the group that you are teaching (planning and assessing their learning); your group will normally consist of a minimum of 6 learners. Exceptions may be made if you teach learners with specific learning difficulties or differences, in prison or in other appropriate environments when numbers are lower; information technology skills to word process assignments and prepare teaching materials; a reference from your employer verifying teaching hours and the support of a subject specialist mentor; a successful Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check.
