The course provides 4 areas of learning: Computer hardware and architectures: computer architectures; programming: software development (Java); Visual Basic and object oriented development (Java); networking: introduction to network modules (Cisco semester 1); introduction to network configuration (Cisco semester 2); local area networks (Cisco semester 3); and wide area networks (Cisco semester 4); plus product-based web development.

This programme enables learners to study individual Higher Education computing modules without committing to a full programme of study; this provides learners with a degree of flexibility in their choice of subject and mode of attendance, thus enabling them to tailor their studies to suit their needs (some modules have pre-requisites).
