Year 2: Compulsory core: business performance; economics; marketing and personnel; research methods; plus options including: combinable and root crops; farm livestock production; advertising, sales and promotion; agricultural tractor and machine applications; career development; energy and waste management; grass and forage, science and production; product development and packaging; soil, irrigation and drainage.

On successful completion of the course, students will have an understanding of the broad principles underpinning general arable production whilst monitoring environmental and commercial viability; students gain the fundamental knowledge required to run a successful business; issues such as personnel, economics, business planning and development, finance and marketing are examined.
