The qualification focuses on many aspects of equine performance, gait, physiology and sports medicine; in years 2 and 3 students develop their knowledge of sports therapy in the equine industry, thus helping each student to develop an understanding of the relationship between structure, function and injury prevention; 2nd year modules such as rehabilitation and performance enable the student to focus on the preventative maintenance and rehabilitation from injury and 3rd year modules such as complementary therapy; equine sports medicine and biomechanics enhance the student's academic knowledge; software programmes such as SIMI motion analysis and Ontrack are used in the field to enhance teaching of conformation based studies, for gait analysis and research based projects.
