Level 2: world music; music in the community; popular music; ensemble performance; plus options to specialise in either solo performance or composition. Level 3: contemporary music; music, musicians, audience; experimental performance; ensemble performance; plus options to specialise in either solo performance or composition.

This course prepares students for a wide range of careers in music, including community-based work, arts administration and employment in the creative industries; the course is flexible to allow students to study areas of music which particularly interest them, for example: students have the option to specialise in performance or composition at levels 2 and 3; all students have access to University-funded instrumental tuition and to music technology resources and recording facilities.
