Located in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, an island which lies at the cross-roads of three continents, the University has quickly become a global education centre. Beginning as a small educational institution preparing Cypriots for professional examinations, the University of Nicosia is today a vibrant international university where students of many ages, ethnic and cultural backgrounds may earn undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as professional qualifications at a significant cost advantage. The University of Nicosia is the largest private university in Cyprus.
The University pursues excellence in education through high teaching standards in a continually improving academic environment. Besides classroom instruction the University offers students opportunities to become involved in a whole range of activities including student clubs, sports, public lectures and seminars.
The University is involved in European and local research projects as a partner or as a coordinating institution. Additionally the University of Nicosia received approval for an Erasmus University Charter and is an official participant in the European Credit Transfer System, ECTS. The University of Nicosia is also involved in the community with campaigns for various causes including environmental protection. In recognition of this work the institution received the prestigious “Global 500” award from the United Nations.
Research is one of the main activities of the University of Nicosia with the University committed to the promotion of research and the generation of knowledge for the benefit of Cyprus and the wider region.
Management and Communication Studies are the first to be organized in 1980 with the appearance of the university. Today it is a part of Business Faculty - one of the biggest departments of the university.
