The modern campus offers a variety of services, including the library, health care, career centre, computer labs, cafés and restaurants.

• University Library

The University Library provides an inspiring setting which is conducive to studying. It offers high-quality collections in printed and electronic form. Information services are available on location as well as over the internet, and the seminar rooms are open 24 hours a day.

• Student Health Care

Student Health Care is available free of charge to students during their entire period of study. At Student Health Care you can meet a counsellor, nurse or student chaplain if you need someone to talk to.

• Computer Labs

Each school has its own computer facilities for students, accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, wireless internet access is also available on campus.

• Cafés and Restaurants

The restaurants and cafés on campus are open to students and staff at the university, as well as to the public.

An important part of student life in Jönköping is meeting new people and relaxing with friends. In Jönköping there are plenty of things to do when you need a break from your studies. On campus we have cafés and restaurants where you can meet up with friends. The University is also located in the city centre, close to everything the town has to offer with cafés, pubs and restaurants for every occasion and pedestrian streets lined with shops. In the city centre you will find the long sandy beaches of Lake Vättern and the great outdoors is also within easy reach.

The Jönköping Student Union is run by students, for students. The union safeguards the students interests in many areas of student life and at the university. To guarantee an active student union, and to ensure student influence at Jönköping University, the university has decided that membership in Jönköping Student Union shall be mandatory for all students at the university. The membership fee varies and is determined by the form of study.

The Student Union works with internationalization and integration. It organizes social activities and tries to provide international students with a deeper understanding and a richer experience of Swedish society and culture. The union organizes different types of events, for example dinners and trips around Sweden and Scandinavia.

For those interested there is a contact person programme (buddy programme). The contact person is a student who will help you adjust to the practical matters of living in Jönköping.

All new international students are guaranteed accommodation, provided that they apply for accommodation correctly and announce their arrival in time. Your username and password will be sent to you shortly after you have been admitted to Jönköping University. Please note that you also have to announce your arrival to complete your accommodation application.

The Accommodation Office recommends new arriving international students to apply for housing through the University and make use of the accommodation guarantee. There is a general housing shortage in Jönköping, hence, in competition with Swedish students it can be difficult to find housing by yourself. Students will be presented with accommodation upon arrival; unfortunately the accommodation office will be unable to provide this information in advance. This is due to the fact that administrative changes can sometimes be made until the final days before the students arrive.

Career Center aims to strengthen the opportunities of students to successfully find appropriate employment upon graduation through meetings with representatives from professional life, career guidance and different activities.
