SLU's campus ministers provide individualized attention to student’s needs, respect their challenges and bring a thoughtful appreciation for everyone’s experiences and beliefs.
The university’s campus offers a variety of facilities for students, including Fitness Centers and Recreation Facilities, housing, dining options, clubs, fraternities and sororities and many others.
In addition to religious extracurriculars, students can also choose from over 240 student organizations that cover a variety of interests: student government, club sports, organizations focused on media and publications, performing arts, religion and volunteerism and service.
There is a recreational center on campus where students can take free Zumba or yoga. The gym is free for students. It is very reliable and 24 hours. Depending on the weather, SLU has a swimming pool and a volleyball court with sand.
Besides, Saint Louis is a lively town filled with amazing things to do such as attending live music venues, eating out, going to the fox theatre, or just walking around exploring the city.
The Campus Ministry organizes specialized retreats and mission trips throughout the year and the on-campus church holds a daily Mass. The Saint Louis Prayerbook is an online database of prayers – some traditional others original and submitted by students or faculty members.
Freshmen and sophomores must live on campus, unless they commute from a parent's home, are married or have been in the military for at least two years, among other exemptions. In total, about 90 percent of freshmen live on campus – all in halls exclusively for first-year students. Saint Louis has both dormitory and apartment space on-campus.

Total undergraduate costs for nine-month academic year, 2016–2017 are about $57,000 for a non-resident living on-campus. This sum includes tuition and fees - about $41,000 per year, books and supplies - $1,500, room and board - $11,000, personal and transportation costs - $3,500.
St. Louis University (SLU) is a Catholic, Jesuit school that is open to students of any faith. The private research institution, which is located a short distance from the city's famous Gateway Arch, was founded in 1818. It is the oldest university west of the Mississippi River and the second-oldest Jesuit university in the United States.

Notable alumni of SLU include Enrique Bolanos, former president of Nicaragua, August Busch IV, former president and CEO of Anheuser-Busch Inc., Gene Kranz, the lead Nasa flight director during the Apollo 11 moon landing and leader of the Apollo 13 rescue mission, and filmmaker James Gunn, writer of Dawn of the Dead.
The 2016 U.S. News National University Rankings placed SLU the 96th nationally. Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2016 ranked SLU the 401st worldwide.
Saint Louis University offers nearly 90 undergraduate programs and about 100 post-baccalaureate programs, with at least 25 percent of them ranked among the best in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report.
