This course is designed for students who wish to develop their graphic skills for commercial design; it caters for students who have a strong sense of design and interest in digital work; the design course is made up of modules covering various aspects of graphic design; the course balances innovation development with professional practice through integrated design briefs and assignments; national competitions and live briefs are encompassed and input from visiting designers active in the industry plays an important role throughout; designers must be able to communicate effectively; not only visually but also verbally; students develop their ability to analyse and synthesise concepts in words and to justify their design process; gaining confidence through the application of research; discussion; critiques; creative and analytical thinking; problem solving; critical judgement; verbal presentation and written work.
