Required modules: International perspectives on adult literacy, language and numeracy (30 credits); plus at least one from: literacy, ESOL and the learners (30 credits); literacy theories and frameworks (30 credits); ESOL theories and frameworks (30 credits); literacy or ESOL learning and teaching (30 credits); issues in mathematics education (30 credits); dissertation (60 credits) or report (30 credits) on adult literacy, language and/or numeracy; optional module examples: assessment: issues and practice (30 credits); gender, education and development (30 credits); issues and options in language teacher development (30 credits); issues in educating and training mature adults (30 credits); learning and teaching for adults (30 credits); professional development and teacher education for the learning and skills sector (30 credits).
