History and current developments in CBT; integrating CBT with other therapy approaches; the role of research; core CBT skills: treatment planning and case formulation, developing a collaborative relationship, implementing behavioural and cognitive change strategies, using homework assignments with clients, using self-help materials, monitoring client progress, and relapse prevention strategies; and CBT perspectives on anxiety and depression.

Diploma-level training in counselling or psychotherapy; minimum 12 months post-qualification practical experience as counsellor/psychotherapist; access to opportunities to make use of CBT interventions in current work with clients; all applicants must satisfy Disclosure Scotland check or equivalent.
