The aim of this course is to equip participants with the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to becoming a specialist in the education of deaf children and young people in a variety of educational contexts (ie special schools, units with mainstream settings and peripatetic support services); the course focuses on the notion of linguistic access and encourages teachers to ensure that various means are available for pupils to access the curriculum and assessment in their preferred language.
