Diploma and Master's students follow the same instructional course for the 1st 2 semesters; thereafter, Master's students undertake a dissertation; modules are: Computer security; computer crime fundamentals; fundamentals of forensic science (theory); fundamentals of forensic science (practical); forensic examination of digital artefacts; crime scene and court exercise; enterprise networking; information policy and law; research methods.

A good 1st degree equivalent to a 1st or 2nd class Honours degree from a UK university in computer science or a related topic; applicants whose 1st language is not English are normally required to have a TOEFL score of 600; (250 in computer based test); or IELTS score of 6.5.

The course includes practical crime scene and court scene experience, provides a placement, and benefits from regular input from practising digital forensic investigators, prosecutors and criminal psychiatrists providing insight into the ‘real world’ of computer crime.
