Minimum age of 18; Honours degree; an understanding of the nature of social work; selection for a place is also conditional on applicants meeting a number of criteria laid down by the Department of Health: evidence of ability in English and mathematics which is normally the equivalent of grade C in the GCSE examination or equivalent; evidence of ability to understand and make use of written material and to communicate clearly and accurately in spoken and written English; commitment to the values of social work; an enhanced criminal conviction and programme occupational health checks; successful registration with the GSCC as a student social worker.
