The campus is located in the heart of the central business district and is in close proximity to the Pepsi Center, Elitch Gardens, The Colorado Convention Center, The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Larimer Square, and the 16th Street Mall.

The main University of Colorado—Denver campus is located downtown, with the Anschutz Medical Campus situated a few miles east in the city of Aurora.

University of Colorado--Denver offers a number of student services, including nonremedial tutoring, placement service, day care, health service, health insurance. University of Colorado--Denver also offers campus safety and security services like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols, late night transport/escort service, 24-hour emergency telephones, lighted pathways/sidewalks, controlled dormitory access (key, security card, etc). Alcohol is permitted for students of legal age at University of Colorado--Denver.

In their free time, CU Denver students can get involved in more than 100 campus organizations, as well as student government, ROTC, The Advocate student newspaper and volunteer opportunities. CU Denver students can also check out the outdoor opportunities offered by the Rocky Mountains and the festivals, rodeos, museums and sports teams of the city of Denver. CU Denver does not offer varsity athletic teams on campus, but students can join intramural sports and "healthy moves" classes such as Pilates and yoga.

Students at CU Denver can benefit from their hard work in class when they visit the Scholarship Resource Office, which helps them track down scholarships, perfect their résumés and edit essays.

Career services offered at Denver include on-campus job interviews, internships, resume assistance, career/job search classes, alumni network, interest inventory and interview training.
