Depending on the course, the themes covered include: microbial biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, analytical biotechnology, food biotechnology; molecular biology and informatics, research methods; computational biology and statistics; water pollution control; biological wastewater and solid waste treatment; contaminated land bioremediation; environmental systems and sustainability; environmental quality and systems modelling; on completion of the taught component (i.e. postgraduate diploma stage), students may undertake research projects in any of the themes stated above for the award of master’s.
